Rhinoplasty Specialist in Miami

What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape the nose, whether it be for aesthetic goals or reconstructive purposes (to correct birth defects or breathing problems). Depending on the patient’s desired effect, the outcome of surgery can be very subtle or dramatic.

Many consider rhinoplasty to be the most complex operation in cosmetic surgery. Since facial structure and nasal anatomy vary greatly between different people, rhinoplasty must be individualized for each patient who visits our practice at Bal Harbour Plastic Surgery Associates in Miami. Through rhinoplasty, plastic surgeon Michael Salzhauer, M.D., will enhance your nose so that it blends with your facial structure and while still appearing completely natural.

Undergoing Rhinoplasty in Miami

At Bal Harbour Plastic Surgery Associates in Miami, patients will be asleep while undergoing rhinoplasty because the procedure is performed under general anesthesia. It typically takes about one to two hours to complete the surgery. However, more complicated cases may take longer. Following surgery, a splint will be applied to your nose by Dr. Michael Salzhauer in order to help it maintain its new shape.

Dr. Salzhauer will prescribe pain medication that you can take to alleviate any discomfort you might experience in the weeks following your rhinoplasty procedure. You can also apply cold compress to reduce any swelling. You should be out of bed after one to two days and able to return to most normal activities after about one to two weeks.
